Bulwell EAZ Student Forum 
The EAZ Student forum meets several times a year to work on issues affecting their education and wider issues across the Bulwell Community. The members are from years 1 to 9 (5-15 year olds) from all 7 schools.
November 2011
The EAZ Student forum met in November 2011 with a full agenda including consultation on Attendance, planning for future meetings and judging the Christmas card competition. There were over 1,000 entires; students had to choose just one winner from each school to go on the EAZ Christmas card, every entry was displayed the Christmas tree in Bulwell Market place. Students are pictured here with local Councillors, partners and governors after the judging.


July 2011 - The Council House, Market Square, Nottingham
For the last meeting of the year the Bulwell EAZ Student Forum were invited to the Council House for a consultation session with Jon Rea, Engagement and Participation Lead Officer. The Forum worked with several officers on issues around Equalities, Safeguarding and Health.
Family and Community Team interviews
A group of Bulwell EAZ students took part in interviewing staff for the Family and Community teams. The young people did an excellent job and presented a mature and dedicated approach to the task.
March 2011
During the Week of Action in Bulwell students too part in a 'March in March' to promote health and well being - primary schools Marched to Bulwell Academy and then attended a health fair organised by Academy students.
February 2011
At the February meeting of the Student forum, everyone got involved in planning a Health March in March for the Bulwell Week of
Action due to take place on Wednesday 23 March. Children from all six primary school sites will March in groups from their schools to a Health event at Bulwell Academy, they will be accompanied by police teams, the Children's Centre and other city council officers.Student forum - this is what we did! The Students worked on how to plan the route safely, helped by the local beat police team, One Vision partnership and a representative from the Crime and Drugs Partnership (who lead on weeks of action in Nottingham City). November 2010
The first meeting of the 2010-11 got off to a great start with a meeting at Bulwell Academy welcoming many new members. This year a group of Year 9 students have taken over the planning and leading of the meetings beginning with a range of team building activities - to find out more. Neighbourhood developments – students are encouraged to highlight issues that are a problem in their locality. These are then discussed with local Councillors and officers and solutions reached to remedy some of the issues, enabling students to make a difference to their environment and community. Current issues the students are discussing are speeding, dog fouling and town centre planning.

Judging the Christmas Card Competition – hundreds of entries are received every year and students choose the winning entries which go on the Bulwell EAZ Christmas Card, all the entries then go on the Christmas Tree in Bulwell Market Place. Forum students take real ownership of this project and the volume of entries is testament to their publicising the competition in their schools.
Nottingham Primary Parliament
Twelve young people from Crabtree Farm and Cantrell schools represented Bulwell at the Nottingham Primary Parliament where they took part in several workshops and a debate with Councillor David Mellen, portfolio holder for Children's Services.
Area Youth Forum
Young people who represent Bulwell Academy either on the School Forum or Bulwell EAZ Forum can progress to the Area Youth Forum. This gives them opportunities to work with students from across the city and take on leadership roles. The experience gained builds skills which may be relevant to their future careers.
